Accessibility

How this website meets WCAG 2.2 AA, and how to tell us if something isn't working for you.

Our commitment

The Department of Interstellar Planning is committed to making this website accessible to everyone, including people with disability, older people, and people using assistive technology. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA.

Conformance status

This website is designed and built on GovTheme, a design system built to meet WCAG 2.2 AA. We have tested pages using automated tools and manual checks, including keyboard-only navigation and screen reader testing.

Most content on this website conforms to WCAG 2.2 AA. Some older documents, particularly PDFs published before 2125, may not yet fully conform. We are progressively reviewing and updating these where practical.

What we've done

  • Provided text alternatives for images and other non-text content
  • Ensured the site can be used with a keyboard alone
  • Used colour combinations that meet minimum contrast requirements
  • Structured pages with headings and landmarks that work with screen readers
  • Kept forms clearly labelled, with error messages that are easy to understand

Known limitations

Some documents linked from this website are provided by external agencies and may not meet the same accessibility standard. Where this affects a document you need, contact us and we'll provide the information in an alternative format.
