Community consultation has opened on a proposed second orbital transport hub for the Core Systems. The department is seeking feedback from residents, colony authorities and industry on the site, scale and design of the proposed facility before a final decision is made.

What's being proposed

The proposed second hub would provide additional surface-to-orbit capacity for the Core Systems, easing pressure on the existing hub and supporting continued population and freight growth in the region. Two candidate sites are being considered, and community feedback will help determine which, if either, proceeds to detailed design.

Consultation dates

  • Consultation opens: 2 May 2127
  • Community information sessions: 17–21 May 2127
  • Submissions close: 30 June 2127
  • Outcomes published: September 2127
Communities living near the candidate sites deserve a genuine say in how this facility is planned. We want to hear from residents before any final decisions are made. The Hon. Amelia Vega MP, Minister for Interstellar Planning and Infrastructure

How to make a submission

Written submissions can be lodged online, by post or in person at a community information session. Submissions should address the proposed site, scale, transport connections and any local impacts you'd like the department to consider.
