Overview

The Future Spaceports Initiative funds the construction of new surface terminals and the upgrade of existing orbital hubs, so the spaceport network can keep pace with population growth in the Inner Colonies and Outer Rim. The initiative prioritises regions where the nearest spaceport is at or beyond capacity, and settlements that currently rely on an unstaffed regional strip.

Since the initiative opened, it has supported the construction of eleven surface terminals and the upgrade of three orbital hubs, cutting scheduled wait times on the busiest routes by close to a third.

Who can apply

Expressions of interest are open to:

  • Colony authorities and settlement councils proposing a new surface terminal
  • System transport authorities operating an existing orbital hub
  • Licensed spaceport operators in an underserved region
